General Electric LM6000 series of gas turbine engines with a power of 57 MW in the Core Engine version, or a gas turbine in the "drive engine assembly" modification, is a complete turbo-power drive unit that is ready for operation as a spare part or as a drive for technical or power equipment. The Core Engine LM6000 is delivered on a single frame (base) with dimensions of 4900x2016 mm and a weight of 7.5 tons. Depending on the version, the turbo unit can generate power ranging from 35 MW in the marine version to 57 MW in the land-based version. The LM6000 gas turbine engine is used as a drive for generators in power plants and as a mechanical drive for high-performance pumps and compressors. The LM6000 gas turbine is also used as a mechanical drive power unit in high-pressure oil field pumping units, as part of a gas-pumping unit (GPA), and as a gas-pumping station. The gas turbine is also used in conjunction with high-pressure compressors for natural gas compression.

 

The GE LM6000 Aeroderivative gas turbine is an aeroderivative (based on an aircraft engine) turbo unit with a modular design, high reliability, and flexibility in application. Currently, approximately 1,200 LM6000 units have been shipped for the power generation sector, including ship-mounted gas turbine units. The total operating time of the LM2500 turbines exceeds 40 million hours. The reliability of starting and operating the unit is over 99.8%. The technical availability rate is 98.4%. The legacy of aviation: the engine is based on the GE CF6-80C2 aircraft turbofan engine, which itself has an extremely high level of reliability (over 99.97% with over 76 million flight hours). The turbine has a high efficiency in a simple cycle: due to its close-to-aviation design, the LM6000 has one of the highest efficiency in a simple cycle (up to 42%), which minimizes fuel consumption. The advantage of the turbine is its direct drive of the generator: the power take-off from the shaft rotating at the required industrial frequency (3000/3600 rpm) eliminates the need for a heavy and expensive gearbox.
